Sentara 3D Mammography Van at NZBC
Sentara Healthcare and New Zion Baptist Church are collaborating to provide health screenings and education to the church and the community. Sentara’s 3D Mobile Mammography will be on site to provide mammograms. This event will be at New Zion Baptist Church on Saturday, April 27th beginning at 11:00 AM. The mobile unit is designed for comfort, with private dressing rooms, central air/heating and a platform step for safer entry.
Requirements
If you are over the age of 40, a physician's referral is not required for an annual screening mammogram. You will, however, be asked to provide your primary care physician's contact information.
Insurance is billed for patients who have coverage. Care is provided to patients who are uninsured on a prorated basis.
If any of the following apply to you, please make your mammogram appointment at a facility and not a van:
A serious breast problem, such as a lump, thickening, bloody discharge from the nipple, recent inverted nipple, "orange peel" texture to the skin, redness or discoloration of the breast, or any other recent changes
Under the age of 35
Personal history of breast cancer
First mammogram after breast biopsy, surgery or reconstruction
Follow-up mammogram less than 12 months after your most recent normal mammogram

NZBC will host their 12th Annual Harvest Feast, “Share of a Blessing”. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 22nd, 11:00 AM-2:00 PM, first come/first serve until boxes run out.
This event is a Grab-N- Box Lunch ONLY (Turkey Sandwich, Chips, Apple, Cookie, Bottled Water, Mustard & Mayo). Drive Through Parking Lot Pick-Up -1-4 boxes per vehicle.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's

Medicare Made Easy Educational Seminar
New Zion Baptist Church will host a Medicare Seminar, "Medicare Made Easy" on Friday, October 27th at 11:00 AM onsite.

New Zion Youth Revival will be Thursday, July 27th and Friday, July 28th at 7:00 PM, nightly. The revivalist will be Dr. Janise Parker, Associate Minister at New Zion Baptist Church. Services will be on-site only.

Summer Topical Bible Study - Every Wednesday
Summer Topical Sessions for 2023 will begin Wednesday, June 7th. Sessions will be held each Wednesday from June to September, 7:30-8:30 PM, with the exception of July 26th and August 16th (reserved for New Quarter and New Zion Annual Revivals). Our regular Bible study will resume September 6th. June sessions are as follows:

Community Easter Egg Hunt
A community Easter egg hunt will occur on Saturday, April 8th, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM at New Zion Baptist Church, 3991 Longhill Road, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185.
There will be an egg hunt, games, prizes, and food catered by Corey’s Southern Catering. This event is FREE and for ages 0-13 years old. Please bring a basket.

Community Lenten Service (No Wednesday Night Bible Study-March 29th)
We will not have Bible study on Wednesday, March 29th. Instead, please join us for the Community Lenten Service at 7:00 PM, held at Vernon United Methodist Church on-site at 7801 Church Lane, Toano, VA, and via Zoom and Facebook Live. NZBC Women's Ministry "Bible Discussion Plus" @ JCC Recreation Center
The NZBC Women’s Ministry will continue the Bible Discussion from the Epistle of James, Chapter One on Saturday, March 25, 2023, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. This event will take place at the James City County Recreation Center, 5301 Longhill Road, Williamsburg, 23188.
Women do not have to be members of NZBC to participate.
The discussion topic: Chapter One: The timeless truth that James presents is that Christians must put faith into action (at home, church, in the neighborhood, and in communities).

New Zion’s Shelter Dates
There has been a change to New Zion’s shelter dates; they are now Tuesday, January 31st and Wednesday, February 1st. The New Zion shelter team is partnering with Smith Memorial Baptist Church to shelter our homeless neighbors from the cold of winter. We are still in need of volunteers.
