NZBC College Workshop Registration
Students in grades 6 - 12 and their parents / guardians are invited to a workshop to help students prepare for the college admissions process and how to apply for financial aid and scholarships. The workshop will be on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church located at 3991 Longhill Road, Williamsburg, Virginia. A FREE Spaghetti dinner will be served from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall.
Following dinner, guest presenter Mr. Tony Belk, an Educational Counselor with the Virginia Tidewater Consortium for Higher Education, will conduct the workshop. If you plan to attend a postsecondary institution and apply for scholarships and other means of financial aid, you are strongly encouraged to attend. The focus of the workshop will be:
Submitting strong college and scholarship applications
Applying for financial aid through grants, loans, or scholarships
Admission Tests (PSAT, SAT, ACT)
What’s important in writing a college essay and resume
Securing References
Developing Timelines
